LML Adreno

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The LML Adreno was a light motorcycle from the Indian manufacturer LML ( Lohia Machinery Limited ).

Model history

LML was known since 1982 as a company that developed and produced motor scooters in cooperation with the Italian manufacturer Piaggio . After more and more four-stroke engines conquered the Indian two-market market at the end of the 1990s, the company began collaborating with the South Korean motorcycle manufacturer Daelim in 1998 . After Piaggio left LML in December 1999, attempts were now made to gain market share in the motorcycle sector.

In 2000, the two technically almost identical light motorcycle models LML Adreno with front fairing and the uncovered LML Energy were released . In contrast to the Energy, the sportier Adreno had an electric starter, a 5-speed gearbox and a disc brake on the front wheel. At the start of production, both models were equipped with Daelim 100 cm 3 motors with three-valve technology. Both models gave a sporty impression, which they did not meet with the 100 cm 3 engine , which was geared more towards economy, despite the high-revving engines, so that the expected sales success did not materialize.

After a facelift at the end of 2001, the engine was replaced by the somewhat more powerful Delta-4 engine with digital ignition and 110 cm 3 displacement from our own development, as was also used in the mid-2002 hopeful LML Freedom . However, this measure no longer helped both models to achieve the expected success, while the Freedom sold successfully.
