La Enconada is a town in the Santa Cruz Department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
La Enconada is the second largest town in the district ( Bolivian : Municipio ) of San Juan de Yapacaní in the Ichilo province . The village is located at an altitude of 259 m on a tributary to the Río Yapacaní in front of the Bolivian Voranden chains in the wetland between the Río Yapacaní and the Río Piraí .

La Enconada lies to the east of the Bolivian Cordillera Oriental on the edge of the Bolivian lowlands.

Due to immigration from the Altiplano in the second half of the 20th century, the region has a certain proportion of Quechua population, in the municipality of San Carlos 23.8 percent of the population speak the Quechua language.
