La Grange is the capital of Fayette County , Texas .

It is located on the Colorado River (Gulf of Mexico) , roughly in the middle of Austin , San Antonio and Houston . The city has 4645 inhabitants.

The city was best known for the song La Grange by the US blues rock band ZZ Top from 1973, a tribute to the Chicken Ranch brothel outside the city limits of La Grange.
