The Lackenberg ( Plesná in Czech , also Debrník ) with its 1,337 meters is one of the higher mountains in the border area in the Bavarian Forest and Bohemian Forest . It is located on the northern edge of the Bavarian Forest National Park .

The German - Czech border also runs over its flat summit , on its north side lies the Laka (Lackensee) , the smallest and highest of the five Bohemian Forest Karseen. The Marchbach rises from the Kanapee on the southeast slope .

A boggy meadow opens up at the highest point of the little-known Lackenberg; there is no rock, a summit cross or a view. That is why it is seldom climbed by locals who either climb the long way from Zwieslerwaldhaus over the Ruckowitzschachten or along the border, which was dangerous until 1990 due to the Iron Curtain .
