Lacoliu ( Locoliu , Lacaliu ) is an East Timorese place and Suco in the administrative office of Quelicai ( municipality of Baucau ).

The place

The place Lacoliu is located in the east of Sucos, at an altitude of 887  m . This is where the Sucos primary school, the Escola Primaria Lacoliu, is located . and a pre-secondary school.

Lacoliu has 1285 inhabitants (2015), 596 of them are men and 689 women. The population density is 98.8 inhabitants / km². There are 286 households in the Suco. About 95% of the population name Makasae as their mother tongue. About 5% speak Tetum Prasa .

Before the 2015 regional reform, Lacoliu had an area of ​​7.42 km². Now it is 13.00 km². The Suco is located in the center of the Quelicai Administrative Office. To the northwest are the Sucos Letemumo and Baguia , to the east of the Suco Uaitame and to the south the Sucos Laisorolai de Cima , Abo and Bualale .

In the southeast of Sucos lies the village of Mucububo ( Mucobubo ), in the south the place Uaule ( Waule ) and in the west the place Laco Liu extends from Letemumo to Lacoliu. The southern tip of Quelicai is in Lacoliu. In this district is also the administrative headquarters of the Quelicai Administrative Office. In Lacoliu lies the Matebian Feto , the smaller peak of the Matebian .

In the Suco there are the three Aldeias Lacodala , Mucububo and Uaule .

politics

In the elections of 2004/2005 was Sebastiao Pereira Gaio Pires elected Chefe de Suco and in 2009 re-elected. In the elections in 2016 won Santiago C. Belo .
