European Lacrosse Championship

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The European Lacrosse Championships have been held every fourth year (since 2004). This tournament is played for the title of European champion in lacrosse . The championship has been held in various European cities since 1995. Before 2004, only seven teams were represented, until a new record of twelve men's and six women's teams was set up at the 2004 European Championship. This led to the tournament becoming the largest international lacrosse event of the year. The following European Lacrosse Championship was held in Lahti , Finland in 2008 , where 18 men's and ten women's teams competed.

The last European Lacrosse Championships took place from June 20 to 30, 2012 in Amsterdam , Netherlands .
