German-Italian university center

The German-Italian University Center ( Italian : Ateneo Italo-Tedesco ) is a coordination center for deepening and consolidating diverse collaborations between German and Italian universities. In particular, the university center is intended to stimulate and promote the development of new joint study programs with Bachelor and Master degrees and jointly supervised doctoral projects as well as the establishment of joint graduate schools.

The university center was founded in 2000 and is based in Trento with a branch at the German Academic Exchange Service in Bonn .

Sponsorship awards

The university center awards annual sponsorship awards to German and Italian scientists who have distinguished themselves for the dialogue between the two countries and the communication of the culture of the other country.

Ladislao Mittner Prize

The Ladislao Mittner Prize is awarded by the university center to Italian academics with a doctorate in various disciplines who have published outstanding things with a connection to Germany. It is financed by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. The award is named after the Italian German studies specialist Ladislao Mittner (1902–1975) and is associated with a grant of 5,000 euros and a DAAD scholarship for a one-month stay in Germany.

Clemens Brentano Prize

The Clemens Maria Brentano Prize is awarded by the German-Italian University Center to German Italy researchers. It is named after the German poet Clemens Brentano (1778–1842) and comes with a grant of 5,000 euros and a grant for a research stay in Italy.
