Lagunitas is a town in the Cochabamba department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
Lagunitas is the largest town in the Ayapampa canton in the district ( Bolivian : Municipio ) Alalay in the Mizque province . The village is located on a ridge of the Cochabamba cordillera at an altitude of 3534 m between the Río Pajcha and the Río Tucma , both of which flow into the Río Mizque near the town of Mizque .

Lagunitas is located in the northwestern part of the Cordillera Oriental , the easternmost mountain range of the Bolivian high mountains. The climate of the region is characterized by a typical time of day climate , in which the daily temperature fluctuations are more pronounced than the seasonal fluctuations.
The annual average temperature is 12 ° C (see Vacas climate diagram), temperatures in the winter months of June / July are just under 10 ° C and in November / December a little more than 14 ° C. Lagunitas is 84 kilometers by road from Cochabamba , the capital of the department of the same name.
From Cochabamba the paved road Ruta 7 leads in a south-easterly direction 41 kilometers to San Benito , from there a dirt road further south-east via Punata to Arani . From there, an unpaved road continues to the southeast and after 21 kilometers via Pocoata and Alalay reaches the village of Lagunitas .

Due to the historical population distribution, the region has a significant proportion of Quechua population, in the municipality of Alalay 99.6 percent of the population speak the Quechua language.
