Laissac is a former French commune with the last 1,644 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2013) in the Aveyron department in the Occitania region . As a municipality it belonged to the arrondissement of Rodez and the canton of Lot et Palanges (until 2015: canton of Laissac ). The inhabitants are called Laissaguais . Since January 1, 2016, Laissac has been part of the municipality of Laissac-Sévérac l'Église .
geography
Laissac is located about 20 kilometers east-northeast of Rodez . The Aveyron limits the municipality to the north. Laissac is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Palmas d'Aveyron in the north, the now incorporated town of Sévérac-l'Église in the east, Ségur in the south and southeast, Arques in the south and Bertholène in the west.
Route nationale 88 and the former route nationale 595 run through the municipality .
