Lambert Joseph Piedboeuf (born February 3, 1863 in Aachen , † November 29, 1950 in Bad Reichenhall ) was a German sculptor who dealt almost exclusively with religious topics. He is considered "the most prominent Aachen sculptor of the turn of the century" and also worked in nearby countries.

Life

Lambert Piedboeuf, son of the upholsterer Hippolyt Piedboeuf and Carolina Elisabeth Linden, was a student of the Aachen sculptor Gottfried Götting (1830–1879) and after a year working at the Cologne Dombauhütte volunteer with the Aachen sculptor Johann Lorenz Opree (1846–1900). He started his own business around 1887. He was also a professor at the Aachen School of Applied Arts .

Lambert Piedbeouf's grave figures and reliefs belong to the 1919 grave jewelry catalog of the Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik . These works were carried out as electroplating .

In his free time he devoted himself to the Aachen dialect and was also a member of the board of the Öcher Platt e. V. at.

Further works can be found in Mönchengladbach (war memorial 1870/71), Kempen and Viersen , but also in San Antonio , Texas (1930). His attractive grave sculptures have spread throughout Germany.
