Lance LeGault

William Lance LeGault (born May 2, 1935 in Chicago , Illinois , † September 10, 2012 in Los Angeles , California ) was an American actor who predominantly had supporting roles in some well-known series, such as The A-Team or Airwolf .

Life

Lance LeGault was the son of Mary Jean Kovachevich († December 21, 1980) and Ernest Legault (1906-1941). His father Ernest came from the community Moose Creek (North Stormont) in eastern Ontario and had French Canadian roots, his mother Mary grew up in Illinois and was the daughter of immigrants from Austria-Hungary; they lived in poor conditions.

After the early death of his father in 1941, he lived in the orphanage until his mother remarried in 1943. He started working at the age of eleven; He was later fired from a regional railroad company when it discovered that he was not eighteen, as it was claimed, but only thirteen.

He spent his childhood and youth in Chillicothe, Illinois, and attended Chillicothe Township High School there , from which he graduated in 1955. After high school, he received a football scholarship from Wichita State University and studied business administration , but gave up after two years to devote himself to his music career.

He was married to his wife Teresa for 35 years; the two daughters Mary and Teresa and the two sons Marcus and Lance come from the marriage. Lance LeGault died of heart failure in Los Angeles on September 12, 2012 at the age of 77.

Career

He began his career as a double for Elvis Presley in the films Girls! Girls! Girls! (1962), Wild Wives of Tennessee (1964) and Great Nights in Las Vegas (1964).

This was followed by a long career as a supporting actor in numerous television series. In his most famous role he played Colonel Roderick Decker in the series The A-Team . He also played a member of the Army in the series Magnum and Airwolf . He had other guest appearances in the series Smoking Guns , The Crooks' Coast , Escape into the 23rd Century , Battlestar Galactica , Buck Rogers , A Duke Seldom Comes Alone , The Time Travelers , Columbo , Knight Rider , MacGyver and Starship Enterprise: The Next Century . In Dallas he sells a junk tanker to JR.
