State Horticultural Show Landau in the Palatinate 2015
The State Horticultural Show Landau in der Pfalz 2015 was a state horticultural show in Rhineland-Palatinate . It took place from April 17 to October 18, 2015 in the independent city of Landau in the Palatinate on the former barracks area "Caserne Estienne et Foch" in the south of the city. When the French troops left the city in 1999, 36 building complexes and more than 300 hectares of land were put under a conversion program.
The garden show originally planned for 2014 has been postponed for a year due to numerous bombs found. The last Rhineland-Palatinate state horticultural show took place in 2008 in Bingen am Rhein . The regular rhythm of four years was interrupted because the state of Rhineland-Palatinate co-financed the 2011 Federal Horticultural Show in Koblenz .
Part of the facility is the 25 m high EnergieSüdwest observation tower , from the platform of which there is a good view of the garden show grounds, the city of Landau and the Palatinate Forest .
On July 10, 2015, the number of visitors to the Landau Garden Show reached 400,000.
During the 185 days of the event, a total of 823,427 visitors were guests on the former barracks in the south of Landau.
