Cabinet of Frederick I
The Cabinet of Frederick I made on 4 July 1945 to 12 December 1946, the State Administration of Saxony (LVS). Since there was as yet no state parliament , the SMAD appointed the first post-war cabinet in Saxony. President of the state administration was the social democrat Rudolf Friedrichs, who had been Lord Mayor of Dresden since the end of the war . The KPD member Kurt Fischer was appointed 1st Vice President . He was also responsible for the home affairs and popular education departments. All other department heads had the title of Vice President of the State Administration of Saxony.

On September 17, 1945, the state administration was partially redesigned considerably. Two vice-presidents were recalled, the responsibilities of the departments changed in part.
