history

In 1803, the Ingolstadt district court was established in the course of the administrative restructuring of Bavaria . This came to the newly founded Altmühlkreis with the capital Eichstätt .

As a result of the separation of justice and administration in the right bank of the Rhine region of the Kingdom of Bavaria on July 1, 1862, the newly formed Geisenfeld regional court was assigned the following locations from the Ingolstadt regional court: Engelbrechtsmünster , Ernsgaden , Gaden bei Pförring , Hartacker , Ilmendorf , Irsching , Münchsmünster , Rockolding , Schillwitzried , Vohburg an der Donau , Westenhausen and Wöhr .

On the occasion of the introduction of the Courts Constitution Act on October 1, 1879, a district court was established in Ingolstadt , the district of which corresponded to that of the district court district.

Note: The Ingolstadt Regional Court was established in Ingolstadt in 1988, although it is a second instance court under the German Courts Constitution Act.
