District Court of Wunsiedel
The Regional Court of Wunsiedel was a Bavarian regional court of the older order that existed from 1812 to 1879 and was based in Wunsiedel in what is now the district of Wunsiedel in the Fichtel Mountains . In the Kingdom of Bavaria , the regional courts were judicial and administrative authorities, which were replaced in administrative matters by the district offices in 1862 and in legal matters by the local courts in 1879 .

With the introduction of the Prussian land law in 1795, all previous state and administrative governing bodies and upper offices were abolished. At the same time, the administration and judiciary were separated . A royal Prussian justice office was set up for the district around Wunsiedel and Wunsiedel got its own city court. In 1810, Wunsiedel became part of the Kingdom of Bavaria , and in 1812 the regional courts of Wunsiedel and Kirchenlamitz as well as Rehau and Selb were established. On January 6, 1812, the Wunsiedel district court was established in the course of the administrative reorganization of Bavaria . This was added to the Mainkreis , whose capital was Bamberg . The old building at that time was located on Landgerichtsstrasse, which also housed a criminal investigative court for the districts of Wunsiedel, Kirchenlamitz, Selb and Gefrees. In 1862 the offices of the Wunsiedel Regional Court were relocated to Katharinenstrasse 14. With the Courts Constitution Act of 1879, the Regional Court was converted into a local court .

The approximately 12 × 35 m building of the old regional court is located at Alte Landgerichtsstrasse 30 . It is just under 30 m west of the Luisenburg Gymnasium Wunsiedel , at an altitude of 532 m above sea level. NN . Immediately south flowing in 140 m Roeslau over, there a 0.75 ha large pond fed.
The building was erected in the middle of the 18th century to the south, just outside the historic center of Wunsiedel. The two-storey secular building has a mansard hipped roof with distinctive bay windows and drilled window and door frames. The building is a listed building and today shares the site with the Wunsiedel paintworks .
In 1862 the district court found its place in the former sugar factory at Katharinenstrasse 14. The building is also a listed building
