Administrative history

Czechoslovakia / German occupation

Before the Munich Agreement of September 29, 1938, the political districts Litovel and Moravská Třebová belonged to Czechoslovakia .

In the period from October 1 to October 10, 1938, German troops occupied this area up to the agreed demarcation line. The political district Litovel from then on bore the former German-Austrian name Littau . It included the judicial district of Konitz (partially). The political district Moravská Třebová from then on carried the former German-Austrian name Mährisch Trübau . It comprised the judicial districts Gewitsch (partly), Mährisch Trübau (partly) and Zwittau. Since November 20, 1938, the political districts of Littau and Mährisch Trübau have been known as “district”. Until that day you were subordinate to the Commander-in-Chief of the Army, Colonel General Walther von Brauchitsch , as head of the military administration.

German Empire

On November 21, 1938, the districts of Littau and Mährisch Trübau were formally incorporated into the German Reich and became part of the administrative district of the Sudeten German territories under Reich Commissioner Konrad Henlein .

The town of Mährisch Trübau became the seat of the district administration .

From April 15, 1939, the law on the structure of the administration in the Reichsgau Sudetenland (Sudetengaugesetz) came into force . Then the districts of Littau (partially) and Mährisch Trübau (partially) came to the Reichsgau Sudetenland and were assigned to the new administrative district of Troppau .

On May 1, 1939, the partially cut districts in the Sudetenland were reorganized. Then the parts of the rest of the Littau district (Konitz judicial district up to the new imperial border) were incorporated into the Mährisch Trübau district, while the latter gave up the municipalities of the Zwittau judicial district to the newly formed district of Zwittau . The rest of the district of Littau (judicial district Littau up to the new imperial border) was divided between the districts of Bärn and Sternberg .

It remained in this state until the end of World War II.
