Agricultural Academy

The Agricultural Academy of the Vytautas Magnus University (lit. Vytauto Didžiojo universiteto Žemės ūkio akademija , VDU ŽŪA) is a department of the Vytautas Magnus University , a former university near Kaunas in Lithuania . It is located on the territory of the Noreikiškės settlement on the western outskirts of the Kaunas district .


The facility was founded in 1924 as the Agricultural Academy in Dotnuva from the Department of Agriculture and Forestry of the University of Lithuania , relocated to Kaunas from 1945 and has been located entirely on today's campus since 1964 . In 1996 it was renamed Aleksandras Stulginskis University (lit. Aleksandro Stulginskio universitetas ). In 2002, the Kėdainiai Institute of Water Management and the Raudondvaris Agricultural Institute were attached to the university as relatively independent university institutes.

In 2018 the university was reorganized. The Agricultural Academy has been back in operation since January 1, 2019.
