The Langenbach , also known as the Schwarzer Langenbach , is an approximately 3 km long, western and orographically left tributary of the Ilse in the North Rhine-Westphalian district of Siegen-Wittgenstein .

geography

Ford of the Langenbach, shortly before the confluence with the Ilse (2015)

course

The Langenbach rises and runs in the south of the Rothaargebirge and Westphalia and in the southeast of the Sauerland-Rothaargebirge nature reserve . Its source is located about 480 meters northwest of the summit of the Jagdberg and 600 m (as the crow flies ) southwest of Heiligenborn , a hamlet in the urban area of Bad Laasphe . It is located at an altitude of around 647  m above sea level. NHN in a small swampy headwaters.

Initially, the stream, which runs mainly northeast, flows through the hamlet of Heiligenborn after a short stretch of forest. From there it flows, for the most part parallel to Kreisstraße  17 (Heiligenborn– Lindenfeld ) and takes up two larger nameless tributaries on the left.

Finally, after about 2.5 km of flow, the Langenbach curves to the east and flows at 490  m above sea level about 900 m southwest and above the Bad Laaspher hamlet Lindenfeld into the Lahn tributary Ilse, which comes from there from the southwest .

Natural allocation

The Langenbach rises in the natural spatial main unit group Rothaargebirge (with Hochsauerland ) (No. 333) with the subunit Dill-Lahn-Eder source area (333.0) in the east. It flows through the Ederkopf-Lahnkopf-Ridge (333.01) natural area, which is part of the Dill-Lahn-Eder source area .

Catchment area and tributaries

The catchment area of the Langenbach is 2.58 km². Because of its close proximity to Jagdberg and Kompass , the highest mountains in the southern Siegerland, the stream has a relatively high level of pouring due to incline precipitation. The Langenbach takes on two larger, nameless tributaries on the left, otherwise only a few small rivulets, including from the swampy headwaters.

traffic

Directly north along the Langenbach runs part of the Kreisstrasse  17 coming from the Eisenstrasse of the Rothaargebirge in the west , which connects Heiligenborn in the southwest with Lindenfeld in the Ilsetal in the northeast; from there the road continues to Banfe .
