The Laperwitzkees is a glacier in the Tauern main ridge ( Glockner group ) in the Lienz district (East Tyrol). It is located south of the Schneewinkelkopf . Its name is derived from the Slavic lapor ( marl ).
The Laperwitzkees is located southwest of the ridge line Ödenwinkelwand , Eiskögele , Schneewinkelkopf and Romariswandkopf . In the west the Aderwand, the south ridge of the Ödenwinkelwand separates the Laperwitzkees from the Vorderen Kastenkees , in the east the Romariswand, the south ridge of the Romariswandkopf, forms the dividing line to the Fruschnitzkees . The Laperwitzkees reaches its maximum extent in the area of the Schneewinkelkopf with around 3450 m above sea level. A. . In the area of the Romariswand, the Laperwitzbach reaches up to around 2690 m above sea level. A. down. The Laperwitzkees feeds the Laperwitzbach and partly the Aderbach, a tributary of the Laperwitzbach.
At the beginning of the 1870s, the Laperwitzkees extended more than a kilometer further to the southwest and was below 2200 m above sea level. A. advanced.
