Lardaro (in the Trentino dialect: Lardèr , German: Larder ) is a fraction of the Italian municipality Sella Giudicarie in the province of Trento , region of Trentino-Alto Adige .

Lardaro is about 37 kilometers west-southwest of Trento on the Torrente Adanà in the Valle del Chiese in the Inner Judicaria at an altitude of 732 m slm
history
The place gained importance for the Austro-Hungarian military . The Lardaro barrier group was established around Lardaro in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The barrages Corno , Larino, Danzolino, Carriola and the Revegler roadblock were intended to prevent any Italian attempts to advance northwards. They also fulfilled this task in the First World War .
Lardaro and was an independent municipality until 2015 and merged on January 1st with the municipalities of Bondo , Breguzzo and Roncone to form the new municipality of Sella Giudicarie. On December 31, 2015, the municipality of Lardaro had 228 inhabitants on an area of 10.74 km². Neighboring communities were Bersone , Bondo, Breguzzo, Daone , Pieve di Bono , Praso , Roncone and Tione di Trento . As a municipality, Lardaro belonged to the valley community Comunità delle Giudicarie
