Lars Winter (born March 12, 1963 in Hildesheim ) is a German politician ( SPD ) and mayor of the city of Plön since March 1, 2017 . From 2012 to 2016 he was a member of the Schleswig-Holstein State Parliament .

Life, job and volunteering

Winter graduated from school in Plön in 1982 with a secondary school leaving certificate, trained as an administrative clerk from 1982 to 1985 and then did his basic military service until 1986 . He then worked as a cashier at the Plön-Land office . From 1993 to 1996 he worked as a treasurer at the office of Schenkenländchen in Brandenburg . In 1996 he returned to Schleswig-Holstein and took on the same function in the Neustadt-Land office . From 2004 he worked there and from 2005 for the Ostholstein-Mitte department as head of the central services and finance department. In 2011 he became Deputy Chief Administrative Officer.

In 1997 he joined the SPD and in 2001 became a member of the district executive committee of the SPD Ostholstein . In 2006 he became local chairman of the SPD Beschendorf , in 2009 deputy district chairman of the SPD and finally in 2010 district chairman of the SPD Ostholstein. From 2008 to 2013 he was chairman of the Komba trade union, a trade union for civil servants and municipal employees.

Electoral offices

In the local elections in Schleswig-Holstein in 2003, Winter was elected to the municipal council in his place of residence, Beschendorf, and appointed as a civil member of the district parliamentary group. In 2008 he was also elected to the district council of the Ostholstein district. However, he resigned his mandate there when he was elected to the state parliament in 2012.

In the state election in 2009 , he ran for the first time for the state parliament of Schleswig-Holstein , but was defeated with 31.4 percent of the primary vote to the CDU candidate Klaus Klinckhamer , to 39.6 percent of the primary vote in the former parliament constituency Eutin-Nord accounted for and could also do not move in via the state list. In the early state elections in Schleswig-Holstein in 2012 , he ran in the Ostholstein-Nord state electoral district and received the direct mandate with 41.3 percent of the first votes. He was a member of the finance committee and financial policy spokesman for the SPD parliamentary group. On December 31, 2016, he resigned from the state parliament.

Winter has been the mayor of Plön since March 1, 2017.

Winter is married and has two children.
