geography
course
The Laubach rises at an altitude of about 390 m above sea level. NHN near Wilhelmsdorf below the watershed . The neighboring stream south of the village, the Stockheimer Bach already belongs to the Wetter river system.
The Laubach flows through the valley of the same name, in which the village of Finkenhain used to be and next the village of Laubach , which derives its name from the brook. Historically, the brook was the border between the area of the Counts of Nassau and that of the Lords of Stockheim . The place Laubach was also divided between the two rulers. The stream now flows parallel to the district road 756 to Gemünden . There the Laubach and the Sattelbach converge in the center of the village .
The last section of the stream leads along the district road 739 to the confluence with the Weil. It finally flows into the Weil from the right at the Etzauer Mühle at an altitude of about 230 m .
Neighboring Weil tributaries are the Bettenbach and the Quadersbach .
Mills
The water of the deciduous brook drove various mills. The Gemündener Dorfmühle existed until 1733. The Lochmühle and the Etzauer Mühle still exist today .
