Laurel Griggs

Laurel Griggs (born June 28, 2006 - November 5, 2019 in New York City ) was an American actress . She gained fame primarily through her appearances on Broadway , but also appeared in films and television series.

Life

Griggs made her acting debut in March 2012 at the age of five in the role of Ivanka in the musical Once , which is based on the 2006 film of the same name . It should also be her longest commitment. She played the role for almost three years from March 2012 to January 2015. From January to March 2013, she starred as Polly in The Cat on the Hot Tin Roof of Tennessee Williams , where she played alongside Scarlett Johansson . In total, Griggs has appeared in more than 1,000 performances in Broadway theaters.

In addition to her Broadway career, Griggs has also appeared in film and television. In 2015, she spoke to several characters in the animated series Bubble Guppies and in the same year she appeared as a guest actress in the television series Louie . Griggs played a supporting role in Woody Allen's 2016 film Café Society . In 2017 she appeared on two episodes of the comedy show Saturday Night Live . Griggs made her last film appearance in the documentary 20 Minutes of Action , which is due to be released in 2020.

Laurel Griggs suffered an asthma attack on November 5, 2019 and was subsequently admitted to New York's Mount Sinai Hospital . There she suffered a heart attack from which she died at the age of 13. More than 1,000 people attended her funeral on November 8th.
