Lauren Pierce Bush (born June 25, 1984 in Houston , Texas ) is an American model and fashion designer .

Life

The daughter of entrepreneur Neil Bush and granddaughter of former US President George HW Bush graduated from Princeton University with a degree in anthropology in 2006 . During her studies, she attended courses in fashion design at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London .

The then 17-year-old made her breakthrough as a well-known model at the end of 2001, photographed by Peter Lindbergh , as a cover girl on the Pirelli calendar 2002. She later appeared on the covers of Vanity Fair , Vogue , Glamor and W Magazine, among others. Lauren Bush, who is a model under contract with Elite Model Management , has worked for Abercrombie & Fitch , Tommy Hilfiger and Zac Posen , among others .

In 2004, Lauren Bush became the official spokesperson for the United Nations World Food Program (WFP) for student campaigns. On behalf of the WFP she traveled to Guatemala in 2004 , to Cambodia and Chad in 2005 , to Sri Lanka in 2006 and to Central America in 2007 . In 2007 she founded the FEED project, which sells bags and t-shirts designed by her for the benefit of the United Nations World Food Program.

In 2008, Lauren Bush founded her own fashion label under the brand name Lauren Pierce . In spring 2009 she presented her first 15-piece collection.

Lauren Bush has been married to David Lauren since 2011. According to her own statement , the work of his father, the fashion designer Ralph Lauren , is a source of inspiration for her own creations.
