The Lauzon is a river in France that runs in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur regions. It rises in the municipality of Chamaret , generally drains in a south-westerly direction and flows after 17 kilometers in the municipality of Bollène as a left tributary into the Canal de Donzère-Mondragon , a shortcut channel of the Rhône . On its way, the Lauzon crosses the Drôme and Vaucluse departments .

history

Before the construction of the Canal de Donzère-Mondragon in the middle of the 20th century, the Lauzon continued to the Rhône, into which it flows across from Pont-Saint-Esprit . This section is now regarded as a separate body of water, see also main article Lauzon (Rhône) .
