Montsegur-sur-Lauzon is a French commune with 1,312 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the Drome region, in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes ; it belongs to the Arrondissement of Nyons and the Canton of Grignan . The community was formerly called Saint-Raphaël .

The place is located in the Rhone Valley and on the Lauzon River .

The neighboring municipalities of Montségur-sur-Lauzon are La Baume-de-Transit , Solérieux , Richerenches (Vaucluse), Chamaret and Chantemerle-lès-Grignan . The municipality is crossed by the river Lauzon , which flows north of Bollène into the Canal de Donzère-Mondragon and thus into the Rhône .
