Saint Ferreol Trente-Pas is a French municipality with 258 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Drôme in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes .

geography

Saint-Ferréol-Trente-Pas is located 19 kilometers northeast of Valréas and 9.6 kilometers northeast of Nyons on the edge of the forêt de Marsanne (Forest of Marsanne ). The eponymous brook Trente-Pas runs in picturesque gorges in the municipality.

history

The part of Saint Ferréol of the place name comes from Saint Ferréol de Besançon († 212).

In 1793, Saint-Ferréol-Trente-Pas was still called Saint Ferriol . In 1801, the municipality received as Saint-Ferréol in the course of the French Revolution (1789-1799) the right to local self-government . The current place name has been official since 1920.

Saint-Ferréol-Trente-Pas had the largest number of inhabitants in 1851 (493), after which the number of inhabitants fell until it reached its lowest point in 1968 with 123 inhabitants. Since then the population has increased again.
