The municipality of Truinas is located in the southwest of the canton of Bourdeaux, in the arrondissement of Die. Truinas has an area of ​​8.64 km² and covered part of the Val de Drôme . A large part of the municipality is used for agriculture, and Truinas also includes many forest areas. Among other things, lavender is grown . The village itself is located at around 500 m, with the highest point of the municipality at 937 m, on the border with Comps ( Montagne de St Maurine ). The Rimandoule stream flows through the municipality .

Truinas is 4.4 kilometers west of Bourdeaux , almost six kilometers north of Dieulefit and about 26 kilometers east of Montélimar (as the crow flies).
