geography
Chaudebonne is located 21 kilometers northeast of Valréas and 4.4 kilometers south of Bouvières . The Roubion River has its source in the municipality.
history
The church of Saint-Agathe in Chaudebonne was first mentioned in 1183 in a deed of the abbey on the Île Barbe (an island in the Saône near Lyon ). In the 17th and 18th centuries, Chaudebonne was raised to the priory of the Île Barbe Abbey. In the course of the French Revolution , the place was recognized as Chaude Bonne as a municipality in 1793, but was already called Chaudebonne in 1801, when it received the right to local self-government . In 1933 the administration of the municipality was moved to the hamlet of Estellon .
