Salettes is located at an average altitude of 435  m on the southern edge of the Drôme department, 14 kilometers by car northwest of Dieulefit and 22 kilometers east of Montélimar . The closest places are La Bégude-de-Mazenc , Le Poët-Laval and Eyzahut . The Ruisseau de Salettes, Ruisseau de Bramefaim and Ruisseau de Mourgon flow in the municipality.

history

Earliest written mention as Preceptoria Saliceti in 1219, 1695 as Saint Jean de Sallettes . At that time owned by the Maltese - Coming from Le Poët-Laval , it later fell to Guyon, then to the papal possessions , later to Plèche, Lattier and finally Viennois. The inhabitants are called Salettois or Salettoises .
