Luke Ridnour (born February 13, 1981 in Coeur d'Alene , Idaho ) is a retired American basketball player. He played in the NBA for 12 years as point guard .

After his time at the University of Oregon , Ridnour signed up for the 2003 NBA Draft . There he was selected in 14th place by the Seattle SuperSonics . He was able to integrate quickly into the team and in his second season already played all 82 season games from the start. That year, the SuperSonics reached the playoffs and lost in the second round to the San Antonio Spurs . Ridnour only lost his regular place in the 2007/08 season . Before the 2008/09 season , Thunder was sent to the Milwaukee Bucks in a transfer involving the Oklahoma City . In Milwaukee he stayed two years, with the second year he took part in the playoffs for the first time in five years, in which the Bucks failed in the first round 4-3 to the Atlanta Hawks . On July 21, 2010, he joined the Minnesota Timberwolves as a free agent . There he regularly plays from the start.

On July 11, 2013, he returned to the Milwaukee Bucks . The Bucks also received a second round draft pick from the Timberwolves and gave Szymon Szewczyk to the Oklahoma City Thunder . Oklahoma paid compensation to both the Bucks and the Timberwolves, who also received Kevin Martin . February 2014 the Bucks transferred him to the Charlotte Bobcats via Trade. He stayed until the end of the season before signing with the Orlando Magic that summer .

On June 24, 2015, Ridnour was traded against the trading rights of Jānis Timma to the Memphis Grizzlies . One day later, on the day of the 2015 draft, Ridnour was traded on, this time in exchange for Matt Barnes to the Charlotte Hornets . Just hours after making his second move, Luke Ridnour was traded for the third time in the 2015 offseason. This time together with a second round pick for 2016 in exchange with Jeremy Lamb for the Oklahoma City Thunder . On June 30, 2015, the fourth trade of the 2015 offseason followed with the move to the Toronto Raptors . The Thunder got the trading rights from Tomislav Zubčić for Ridnour . The Raptors finally put him on the waiver list, whereupon Ridnour himself announced that he wanted to sit out the 2015/16 season . In June 2016, however, Ridnour announced his resignation.
