La Baume-de-Transit is located on the border of the Drôme department and the Vaucluse department , 23 kilometers northeast of Orange and eleven kilometers southwest of Valréas . The river Lez flows through the municipality. Neighboring municipalities to La Baume-de-Transit are Montségur-sur-Lauzon in the north-west, Richerenches in the north-east, Bouchet in the south and Suze-la-Rousse in the south-west.
