The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement of Nyons and the canton of Nyons et Baronnies (until 2015 Buis-les-Baronnies ). The inhabitants are called Bellecombois .

Bellecombe-Tarendol is about 60 kilometers northeast of Avignon . Bellecombe-Tarendol is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Rémuzat in the north, Pelonne and Verclause in the northeast, Lemps in the east, Saint-Sauveur-Gouvernet in the southeast and Le Poët-Sigillat in the west.
