Lazhar Hadj Aïssa ( Arabic لزهر الحاج عيسى; * March 23, 1984 in Batna ) is an Algerian soccer player.

Career

society

Lazhar Hadj Aïssa began his career in 1994 as a youth at MSP Batna , where he played in the professional team for a year in 2003. In the summer of 2004 he moved to ES Setif , where he played 25 league games in his first season and scored two goals. In the second year he was also used regularly and even scored five times. In June 2006, on the recommendation of Zinédine Zidane, he completed a trial training session at the Spanish top club Real Madrid . In his third season he managed to win the championship with his team, for the first time since 1987. He also contributed significantly to winning the Arab Champions League in 2006/07 and was voted the best player of the tournament. A year later, the ES Sétif was able to defend the Champions League title, but only came third in the championship.

On July 11, 2008 it was announced that Hadj Aïssa is to complete a trial training with the Portuguese record champions Benfica Lisbon . Benfica was on the verge of loaning him out, but Hadj Aïssa turned down the offer. Two weeks later he traveled to the Ukraine to see Metalist Kharkiv and signed a contract there, but this was later declared invalid because there was no agreement on the transfer fee.

On August 9, 2009 he signed a contract with the club from Saudi Arabia at Al-Ettifaq . But this transfer did not materialize either, because Al-Ettifaq had financial problems and was unable to pay the transfer fee. On August 24th, he completed a trial session at the English club Portsmouth FC . There he trained until the end of the transfer period at the end of September, but failed to get a work permit in England. Portsmouth wanted to continue to hold on to the transfer, but was unable to do so due to the lack of a work permit.

In the 3-0 victory in the 2010 cup final, he led his team onto the field as captain.

In January 2013 he returned to Algeria, to MC Alger . There, however, he was unable to play a single game for the team due to a persistent meniscus injury. The following July, his contract was then terminated. After a year without football involvement, he completed a trial training session with the Algerian first division promoted USM Bel-Abbès in July 2014 .

National team

Hadj Aïssa already played for the Algerian U-23 national team until he was nominated for an A international match for the first time in 2005 and played in the 0-0 draw in Gabon on 8 October . Although he made his debut in 2005, he has only made eight international matches so far. He has also played in the senior national team, which consists of Algerian players from their own league.
