Leça da Palmeira is a Portuguese parish ( Freguesia ) in the Matosinhos district .
Together with the municipality of Matosinhos, it forms the city of Matosinhos. The patron saint of the place is the Archangel Michael .

The community is located on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean . It is separated from Matosinhos by the port facilities of Leixões .
