Graduating Class: Wild Youth - 1975 is a 1994 French film directed by Cédric Klapisch . The tragicomedy is the first contribution in a three-part series of films that were made between 1993 and 1995, were co-produced by ARTE and are each set a decade later.

action

Ten years after completing their baccalaureate , the four friends Alain, Bruno, Léon and Momo meet in the maternity ward because their friend Sophie is expecting a baby. The child's father is Tomasi, who died of a drug overdose a month ago. The friends remember in flashbacks their eventful youth in the 1970s at a Paris lycée , their demonstrations against unemployment, their first experiments with drugs, their lessons and their first friends.

Reviews

The lexicon of international films wrote that the film endeavors to be "true to contemporary history" and does not aim at nostalgia, but rather tries to "show young people in a period of upheaval". The TV magazine rtv comes to the conclusion: "Intensive and moving staged."

Awards

Cédric Klapisch was awarded the audience award at the Paris Film Festival .
