Lecherous Nocturne is an American technical death metal band from Greenville , South Carolina that was formed in 1997.

history

The band was founded in 1997 by guitarist Christian "Kreishloff" Lofgren. The first two demos followed in 2001 and 2002. During this time the group also played concerts and acted as opening act for bands like Immolation and Krisiun . Jason Hohenstein from Atlanta joined the band as the singer . The band went to Colorado to look for a new guitarist and bassist. After an unsuccessful search, she returned to South Carolina. Clay Lytle first came to the band as a drummer. Later Nile's Dallas Toler-Wade played drums, while Monstrosity's Mike Poggione played bass. In 2006 the group recorded the debut album Adoration of the Blade , which made them sign with Unique Leader Records . In summer and autumn 2007 they went on tour through the USA. On September 19, all equipment was stolen from the band at a concert in Houston , Texas . In 2008 the second album The Age of Miracles Has Passed was released . Jeremy Nissenstein was then included as the new drummer. In 2009 Ethan Lane joined the band as the new guitarist. Lane had played bass for Mike Poggione on the band's last tour. Lane now replaces guitarist Chris Lollis, who had left the band. In the same year, the singer Hohenstein left the line-up in order to be able to devote more time to his job and his family. In late 2011 he was replaced by Brett Bentley. In March 2012 it went on tour through North America along with Deicide , Jungle Rot and Abigail Williams . In February 2013, the third album Behold Almighty Doctrine was released via Unique Leader Records . The band then consisted of bassist James O'Neal, drummer Alex Lancia, guitarists Christian Lofgren and Ethan Lane and Chris Lollis, who had now returned to the band as a singer. In October of that year the band signed a contract with Willowtip Records .

style

According to Ethan Lane in an interview with Brett Stevens from deathmetal.org , the band was influenced by various black , thrash and death metal bands. James O'Neal's bass playing and Alex Lancia's polyrhythmic drums were heavily influenced by jazz . Lane feels strongly influenced by Frédéric Chopin , Sergei Wassiljewitsch Rachmaninow and Ludwig van Beethoven . In addition, the music is influenced by personal feelings and experiences. According to Alexander Eitner from metalnews.de, the band plays Technical Death Metal on Behold Almighty Doctrine . The singing is not, as is usually the case, very deep, but one relies much more on “pissed off screeching and screaming”. The songs, which made a chaotic and hectic impression on Eitner, would occasionally tend slightly towards Black Metal.
