Lee Jin-taek

Lee Jin-taek ( Korean 이진택 ; born April 13, 1972 ) is a former South Korean high jumper .

In 1991, 1993 and 1995 he was Asian champion, and at the 1994 Asian Games in Hiroshima he won silver. While he failed in qualifying at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona and at the World Athletics Championships in Stuttgart in 1993 and in Gothenburg in 1995 , he finished eighth in the 1996 Olympic Games .

The following year he won gold at the East Asian Games , finished eighth at the World Cup in Athens and won gold at the Universiade . In 1998 he won silver at the Asian Cup and gold at the Asian Games in Bangkok .

A sixth place at the 1999 World Cup in Sevialla was followed by qualification at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney.

In 2001 he won gold at the East Asian Games and in 2002 at the Asian Games in Busan .

Lee Jin-taek is 1.89 m tall and weighed 70 kg at competition times.
