Legacy of Kings (English for: " Legacy of Kings ") is the second studio album by the Swedish power metal band Hammerfall . It was released in 1998 and made it to number 15 on the German album charts. The song Heeding the Call was also released as a single .
Emergence
All songs were written together by Oscar Dronjak, Joacim Cans and Jesper Strömblad (the band's former drummer). Exceptions are At the End of the Rainbow , which was written by Dronjak and Cans together with Andy Mück, the Pretty Maids - cover version Back to Back , and Stronger Than All , which was written by Oscar Dronjak alone.
The album was recorded in the studio in 45 days and the quality of the production was higher than that of the debut album, but still not satisfactory for Cans. He is of the opinion that the backing vocals in particular did not come into their own.
As on the previous album, Legacy of Kings also had a number of artists outside of the band. For example, William J. Tsamis ( Warlord ) took over the role of lead guitar on At the End of the Rainbow . The Jericho Brothers, Ronny Milianovic, Peter Taxén and Per Cederwall performed as background singers.

Trivia
The song At the End of the Rainbow was originally written by the befriended band Stormwitch and was planned for the successor to the album Shogun , but the band fell apart during the creation process. Thereupon Andreas Mück, the singer of Stormwitch, offered Hammerfall some songs from the planned album, of which At the End of the Rainbow was finally recorded and published.
