Joacim Cans (born February 19, 1970 in Mora ) is the singer of the Swedish band Hammerfall .
Life
1986 Cans formed the band Eternity. At first he only played the guitar, but also had to take on the vocal part, as no one else agreed to do it. He later concentrated entirely on singing. In 1991 he helped the band Highlander on a live show, which resulted in a multi-year membership. The band later became known as Lost Horizon . At this point he decided to pursue a singing career. In 1993 he joined a music school in California, which has shaped him very much.
In 1996 he helped the band Hammerfall with a gig. Although Cans actually wanted to withdraw from the music business, he is still active as a singer with Hammerfall; for this he quit his job in a record store.
In 2002 Cans worked as a singer on the comeback album Rising Out of the Ashes by the US epic metal band Warlord . Two years later his first solo album , Beyond The Gates , came out.
In December 2013, Cans was on a special Christmas Metal Symphony Tour with the 32-strong Magnum Opum Rockestra under the direction of Marcel Heijnen. Other singers in this project are Udo Dirkschneider , Joey Belladonna , Chuck Billy , Michael Kiske and Floor Jansen .
