Crimson Thunder (English for. " Purple Thunder ") is the fourth studio album of the Swedish power metal band Hammerfall . It was released in 2002 by Nuclear Blast . The band was awarded a gold record for the album during the concert in Gothenburg on February 20, 2003 , which was recorded for the live album One Crimson Night .

Emergence

The recordings for the first album with Charlie Bauerfeind as producer lasted about seven weeks and were completed by the end of July 2002. The band finished ahead of schedule for the first time, which the band members found very unusual.

After the original plan was to include a comic by Jan Oidium , who had long been concerned with the idea of a Hammerfall comic, to a limited edition of the album , 1,000 copies of the hardcover Hammerfall comic, limited to 10,000 copies, were released with a copy of Crimson Thunder .

The Swedish curling team played in a later music video for Hearts on Fire . The clip was recorded for the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin .

title

The title of the album refers to blood flowing through veins. It also alludes to the cover , on which both purple skies and thunder and lightning can be seen.

"In the end, it says that something is brewing in the purple sky."
