The Swiss Athletics Association, Swiss Athletics , provided a total of 13 participants at the 2009 World Athletics Championships in Berlin .
The team remained without medals. The best performances were achieved by Nicole Büchler , who narrowly missed the final of the twelve best jumpers in the pole vault , as well as the heptathlete Linda Züblin with 16th place.
As part of her heptathlon, Linda Züblin achieved a new Swiss record with a javelin throw of 53.01 m, Nicole Büchler equalized her own national record of 4.50 m in the pole vault.
