Leif Bergson
Leif Bergson (born December 15, 1927 in Köping , † November 6, 1999 in Uppsala ) was a Swedish classical philologist .
After obtaining his licentiate (1952) and doctorate (1956) in classical philology, Bergson worked as a university lecturer at Uppsala University and, from 1957, at Stockholm University . From 1967 to 1968 he was visiting professor at the University of Kentucky in the USA. In 1972 he was appointed assistant professor in Uppsala. In 1973 he moved to the University of Trier in Germany to the newly established chair for Greek Philology, which he held until his retirement (1993).
