Lemeschiwka ( Ukrainian Лемешівка ; Russian Лемешовка Lemeschowka ) is a village in the east of the Ukrainian Oblast of Kiev with about 1050 inhabitants (2001).

The village, first mentioned in writing in 1640, was visited by Taras Shevchenko in 1845 . In 1971 the village had 1604 inhabitants. There is a 7.0 hectare park in the village, which is a protected monument for garden and park art.

Lemeschiwka is the administrative center of the same name, 69.96 km² District Municipality in northeastern Yahotyn Raion to still the village Henseriwka ( Гензерівка , ) with about 550 inhabitants and the easternmost settlement of the Kiev Oblast, on the border with Oblast Chernihiv the Village Lukomschtschyna ( Лукомщина , ) with 3 inhabitants, belongs.

Geographical location

The village is situated at an altitude of 123  m on the banks of Hnyla Orschyzja ( Гнила Оржиця ), a 98 km long left tributary of Sula -Zuflusses Orschyzja . Lemeshivka is located near the border with Poltava Oblast , 28 km east of the Jahotyn district center and 130 km east of the Kiev oblast center .
