Leonard William "Lenny" Hambro , including: Lennie Hambro (* 16th October 1923 in New York ; † 26. September 1995 in Somers Point , New Jersey ) was an American alto saxophonist of swing and modern jazz .

Live and act

Lenny Hambro played with Gene Krupa , Billy Butterfield and other swing bands early in his career in the 1940s . From 1951 to 1952 he worked for Ray McKinley , from 1952 to 1956 for Machito . He also recorded records with Chico O'Farrill and Red Norvo during this time . In the mid-1950s, Hambro led his own formations, with which he also recorded records. Contributing musicians were u. a. Eddie Costa , Sal Salvador , Clyde Lombardi , Barry Galbraith , Arnold Fishkin and Gus Johnson .
