Leo Peter Kierkels
Leo Peter Kierkels CP (born December 12, 1882 in Baexem , Netherlands , † November 7, 1957 in Rome ) was a Roman Catholic Archbishop and Vatican diplomat .
Life
Leo Peter Kierkels joined the Congregation of the Passionists in and received on 22 December 1906, the sacrament of Holy Orders .
On March 23, 1931 Pope Pius XI appointed him . the Titular Archbishop of Salamis and ordered him to apostolic delegate in India . The Prefect of the Congregation De Propaganda Fide , Cardinal Wilhelmus Marinus van Rossum CSsR , donated him episcopal ordination on April 26th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Oppido Mamertina , Giovanni Battista Peruzzo CP, and the Apostolic Delegate emeritus in India, Archbishop Pietro Pisani .
On July 1, 1948 Leo Peter Kierkels became Apostolic Internuntius in India. Kierkels resigned as Apostolic Internuntius in India on June 29, 1952.
