Leon Wasilewski (born August 24, 1870 in St. Petersburg , † December 10, 1936 in Warsaw ) was a Polish politician of the Polish Socialist Party ( PPS ), close associate of Józef Piłsudski , Polish Foreign Minister and father of Wanda Wasilewska .

Life

His first encounter with politics was the National League Narodova , but as early as the 1890s he joined the PPS in Galicia . During the First World War he was a member a. a. a Polish combat organization (POW). After the restoration of Poland, he became the first Polish Foreign Minister in Jędrzej Moraczewski's government from November 17, 1918 to January 16, 1919 . From 1920 to 1921 he was the Polish ambassador to Estonia .
