Leonardo de Miranda Pereira
Leonardo de Miranda Pereira (born May 31, 1936 in Diamantina ) is a Brazilian clergyman and emeritus Roman Catholic Bishop of Paracatu .
Life
Leonardo de Miranda Pereira was ordained a priest on December 8, 1959 .
Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Paracatu on May 6, 1986. He was ordained bishop by the Archbishop of Diamantina , Geraldo Majela Reis , on August 9 of the same year; Co- consecrators were the Serafím Fernandes de Araújo , Archbishop of Belo Horizonte , and Antônio Felippe da Cunha SDN , Bishop of Guanhães . As a motto he chose In viam pacis .
On November 7, 2012, Pope Benedict XVI. his resignation request submitted for reasons of age.
