The diocese Guanhães ( Latin Dioecesis Guanhanensis , Portuguese Diocese de Guanhães ) is in Brazil located Roman Catholic diocese based in Guanhães in the state of Minas Gerais .
history
The diocese of Guanhães was established on May 24, 1985 by Pope John Paul II with the Apostolic Constitution Recte quidem from cessions of territory from the archdiocese of Diamantina and the dioceses of Governador Valadares and Itabira-Fabriciano . It was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Diamantina as a suffragan .
