The Diocese of Itabira-Fabriciano ( Latin Dioecesis Itabirensis-Fabriciannensis , Portuguese Diocese de Itabira- [Coronel] Fabriciano ) is in Brazil located Roman Catholic diocese based in Itabira in the state of Minas Gerais .
history
Pope Paul VI founded the diocese of Itabira with the Apostolic Constitution Haud inani on June 14, 1965 from cession of the archbishopric Diamantina and Mariana , to which it was also subordinated as a suffragan diocese.
With the bull Cum urbs vulgo Coronel Fabriciano , it took its current name on June 1, 1979. It lost part of its territory in favor of the establishment of the Guanhães diocese .

The diocese of Itabira-Fabriciano includes the parishes of Itabira , Coronel Fabriciano , Alvinópolis , Antônio Dias , Bela Vista de Minas , Belo Oriente , Bom Jesus do Amparo , Dionísio , Ipatinga , Itambé do Mato Dentro , Jaguaraçu , João Monlevade , Marliéria , Mesquita , Nova Era , Passabém , Rio Piracicaba , Santa Maria de Itabira , Santana do Paraíso , São Domingos do Prata , São Gonçalo do Rio Abaixo , São José do Goiabal , São Sebastião do Rio Preto and Timóteo of the state of Minas Gerais.
